Google Play in recent weeks has received a lot of new features including one that allowed developers to display sales on their apps, including free offers, on Google Play. Now, Google Play is adding a new section dubbed ‘Free App of the Week’ which will highlight the weekly offer on popular apps.
The new Free App of the Week section in Google Play is not visible currently in India. Though, we can expect the feature to be rolled out soon.

LibreOffice 5.3 was released in Feb 2017 with lots of new features. The most notable feature is the Microsoft Office-like Ribbon-UI (notebook bar) even though this is one of the experimental features.
It is available for Windows, Linux and Mac platforms. Also an online version, called LibreOffice Online is available, so that it can be used with private cloud based environments.
The experimental features, such as the notebookbar (ribbon) interface are not enabled by default.

Uber has halted its self-driving car program following a crash involving one of the vehicles in Tempe on Friday.
The test program had been operating in Arizona since late December.
According to Tempe police, another vehicle failed to yield at a traffic signal while making a left turn onto Don Carlos Avenue from McClintock Drive. The vehicle collided with the Uber SUV and then a third vehicle was hit.

Apple has denied that its security has been compromised, following ransom demands from a criminal group that claims it has the usernames and passwords of hundreds of millions of iCloud and Apple email accounts. However, independent verification of samples of this set provided to media outlets indicate that at least some of them are in fact genuine, and that users should be worried.
The relatively unknown organisation calling itself Turkish Crime Family says it will remotely wipe users’ devices and the contents of their accounts on April 7 if Apple does not pay each of its seven members $100,000.

The micro-blogging service plans to offer an advanced Tweetdeck experience with more powerful options for businesses and power uses under efforts to broaden its revenue base in view of dwindling advertising income.
The plan to monetize Tweetdeck came to light on Thursday when screenshots started appearing on Twitter showing a mock-up of the proposed service. An explanatory message sent by the company to select users described how the new tool would work.

Linux users have a new option if they want to watch Netflix — the streaming service is now compatible with Firefox for the platform. Before this, only Google Chrome could play videos from the website outright. There was even a time when users had to make sure they’re using a version of Chrome with the required Encrypted Media Extension (EME) support. Alphabet Inc’s Google announced on Wednesday that it will revamp its popular maps app to allow users to share their locations, in order to boost engagement on a product of increasing strategic importance to the search giant.
Within the next week, users worldwide will be able to share where they are in real time on devices running both Google’s Android operating system and Apple Inc’s iOS software, Google said. The feature is part of an array of new tools aimed at boosting the effectiveness of Google Maps, which analysts say is critical to the company’s ambitions in commerce and transport.
